69. Historic Columbia River Scenic Byway

On I-84 east of Portland. Visitors can take Exit 17 off I-84 to Troutdale, then drive to the Sandy River where the Corps of Discovery camped in The Chanticleer Point scenic overlook provides a great view of the Columbia River Gorge. The route continues to historic Vista House at Crown Point. Built as a memorial to the pioneers, it offers an inspiring view of the Columbia Gorge and the mountains of the Cascade Range.
