Visitors can exit to US 12 to ID 11 to see the Weippe Prairie where the Lewis and Clark expedition first met the Nez Perce people in 1805. The Weippe Discovery Center shares this history with interactive exhibits and hand painted murals depicting events in the expedition’s journals.
