On US 12. The Corps headed north to Travelers’ Rest, near present-day Lolo, arriving on September 9, 1805. Travelers’ Rest State Park is a state park and a National Historic Monument. This location was discovered to be used as a campsite by the Lewis and Clark Expedition on their way to the Pacific Ocean, and on their return journey.
