US 101/26. Symbolically, visitors can begin their journey at the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park at Fort Clatsop near the mouth of Columbia River. The small log stockade has been re-created as it was when the Corps of Discovery built it and wintered there from December 7, 1805, to March 23, 1806.
