Just north of Cannon Beach is Ecola State Park that offers access to scenic viewpoints and trails connected to the Corps of Discovery, including the route taken by members who traveled to view a beached whale. From these headlands, Clark described the landscape as “…the grandest and most pleasing prospects which my eyes ever surveyed.”
